Arianne Meg Esguerra of the School of Computing (SOC) and Code Geeks was elected as the chairperson of the Commission on Student Organizations (CSO) for academic year (AY) 2025 – 2026 in a 5-2 secret-ballot election, May 7.
Organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the election took place via a Messenger call attended by OSA Student Activities Coordinator Paul Ernest Carreon, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairperson Arnold Nunag, and the seven voting CSO representatives of each department.
Upon the submission of secret ballots to Carreon which was then deliberated with Nunag, the outcome of the voting resulted in five votes for Esguerra and two votes for Misouri Raeyanze Lacson of the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines – HAU Chapter (LTS-HAU) from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM).
According to Carreon, the CSO is responsible for protecting the interest of student organizations in dealings with the administration; assisting the OSA in communicating and processing accreditation requirements; and maintaining a student activities-focused gazette.
He then emphasized that the CSO for the new term must focus on the first and third functions as mentioned above.
Prior to the selection of the CSO chairperson, each college student council (CSC) convened all CSO representatives from the recognized organizations under their respective colleges. A vote was then conducted to elect each department’s CSO Commissioner.
Participants in the CSO elections, who would also be serving as CSO commissioners, include:

- Alyanna Silao, School of Education (SEd) representative from The Kaleidoscope
- Zion Gem Pabustan, School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) representative from the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – HAU Junior Unit
- Luis Belleza, School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (SNAMS) representative from the Society of Angelite Nursing Students (SANS)
- Francine Kaye Fumio, College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) representative from CSC-CCJEF
