HAU Golden Guardians topped the Mabalacat City College (MCC) Crimson Tribe, 89 – 72, to record their second win in the United Central Luzon Athletic Association (UCLAA) Season 10 held at the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Arena, September 20.
Opening with a slow start, the Golden Guardians scored their first point after two minutes while the Crimson Tribe led with 4 points. However, the Golden Guardians recovered quickly and built an 8-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 29 – 21, and maintained momentum through the second quarter, holding a 43 – 34 advantage at halftime.
Meanwhile, MCC attempted to close the gap in the third quarter, but HAU held their lead with strong offense, entering the final frame ahead, 62 – 52, before securing a 17-point lead victory in the fourth quarter.
Brod Wilson Soriano was recognized as Best Player of the Game after scoring 14 points for HAU, guiding the Golden Guardians to a 2 – 1 record as they continue their UCLAA Season 10 campaign.
Up next for the Golden Guardians are the AUF Great Danes, though the matchup has yet to be rescheduled after being postponed by inclement weather.
