HAU men’s and women’s volleyball team suffered a 1 – 3 loss in both their matches against the New Era University (NEU) Hunters and St. Clare Colleges (SCC) Lady Saints, respectively, at the Philippine Christian University (PCU) Manila Gymnasium.
Showing off in their first set in the men’s division, the Golden Guardians started strong, outclassing the Hunters, 25 – 18. Yet, despite their early surge, the Hunters eventually took control, winning the next three sets 22 – 25, 20 – 25, 21 – 25, with HAU following closely behind.
Mirroring the men of HAU, the women’s volleyball team managed to outsmart the Lady Saints in the first set, scoring 25 – 22. Charging against the momentum, however, the Lady Saints fought back, dominating the Guardians in the second set, 12 – 25.
Rising from their set loss, the Lady Guardians’ efforts to prevail over the Lady Saints resulted in a tightly contested third set, which ended with a loss for HAU, 35 – 37, eventually bowing to SSC’s straight comeback in the last set, 13 – 25.
Now in their third game, the men of HAU hold a 1 – 2 win-loss record, set to face the Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) Stallions, March 28.
Meanwhile, the women, finishing their fourth game with a record of 1 – 3, will face the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) Phoenix on the same day.
