Calling on Angelites to “remain in touch” with the core of humanity by imitating Christ, Rev. Fr. Omar Niño “Among Omar” Defensor officially commenced his pastoral appointment at HAU in an installation mass, June 2.
In his message, Fr. Defensor referred to Christ as the “model of human holiness,” and likewise expressed his hope to join Angelites in his chaplaincy in “rediscovering and celebrating humanity.”
“In this age, where much of life is driven and even generated by modern technology and artificial intelligence, we are challenged to rediscover what it is, what it truly means to be fully human,” he shared.
Presiding over the eucharistic celebration was Rev. Fr. Francis Dizon, vicar general of the Archdiocese of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga (CSFP), with the presence of Archbishop-Emeritus Paciano Anicete and other priests under the archdiocese.
Fr. Defensor succeeds Rev. Fr. Mark Anthony “Among Mak” Torrecarion, who took a new pastoral ministry at the Señor Salvador Parish Church in Salapungan, Candaba, May 23.
