The Holy Angel University (HAU) Golden Guardians seized victory against the University of Makati (UMAK) Great Brave Lady Herons, 3 – 2, in the women’s volleyball division match held at the Immaculate Heart (IH) Gymnasium yesterday, February 4, in Season One of the Universities and Colleges Premier League (UCPL).
Caught in a slow start, the Golden Guardians fell to the Lady Herons, 17 – 25, despite their efforts to attack and defend in sync with the latter.
Onto the second set, the ladies of HAU finally matched the pace, both teams trading fired blows to keep the ball on their side. However, they were outplayed once again, losing in a tight 24 – 25 finish.
